Senior Research Associate

Tom is a Senior Research Associate in the Survey Coordination Centre. He joined Picker in November 2024 to work on the NHS Staff surveys, particularly the GP Staff Survey.

Prior to Picker, Tom worked at Healthwatch England and a research agency, where he researched people’s experiences of health and care. He specialised in qualitative research and engagement, which included delivering deliberative engagement events for NHS England and different integrated care systems.

Tom has a PhD in Political Science from the University of Birmingham, and a PGCE in Further Education and Training from Oxford Brookes University. He taught research methods to social science students at the University of Sheffield and contributed to published academic work.
