Stuart Bell CBE

Patron

A distinguished former NHS Chief Executive, Stuart Bell CBE has a long-standing interest in person centred care and a strong association with Picker. Prior to becoming the organisation’s Patron in 2019, Stuart served as a Trustee for more than a decade and as Chairman for six years, leading the organisation through a period of significant development and achievements.

Stuart was Chief Executive of Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust, a position he held from October 2012 until April 2020. He previously spent 13 years as Chief Executive of the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust. He has been featured in the Health Service Journal’s list of top 50 NHS CEOs every year since its inception. Stuart was awarded a CBE for services to the NHS in 2008 and he is an Honorary Fellow of King’s College London, an Honorary Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, and a Trustee of Help for Heroes.
