Catherine Davidson

Research Associate

Catherine is a Research Associate in the Survey Coordination Centre. Catherine joined Picker in October 2023 and supports two national surveys within the NHS National Patient Survey Programme. She has experience in both qualitative and quantitative research methods, specializing in qualitative interviews. She supports all areas of the survey lifecycle, from development through to reporting.

Previously, Catherine worked as a Senior Research Assistant at the University of Lancashire where she contributed towards and led on the development and management of healthcare-related research projects, including exploring care quality within the NHS. Her main roles were supporting and managing quantitative and qualitative research projects, including design, distribution and analysis of nationwide surveys, process evaluation, interviews with healthcare staff and service users, systematic reviews, public and stakeholder engagement and dissemination. Catherine is both a named and first author on multiple academic papers, and more recently, on a blog post for Picker.

Catherine has an NIHR-funded PhD in post-stroke body image experience, MSc (Distinction) in Health Psychology and a 2:1 BSc in Psychology.
