4. Carrying out observation of care

Once you receive the go-ahead for the project, your first activity is likely to be observation. This is an extremely important stage that involves spending time within the service, watching how the teams and systems operate on the ground.

The New Beginnings team spent time shadowing their colleagues as they worked and observed the environment of the operating theatre. They also simulated what it was like for the women to be there. In the film below Emma talks about how they did this.
