About the course
There can be anxiety when we bring together groups of patients and professionals:
- Will everyone feel safe and able to contribute?
- Will the conversation be steered off course?
- Will we be able to arrive at something tangible?
Our new Effective Facilitations Skills course will help participants improve their facilitation skills and confidence to facilitate both online and face-to-face events. This is what previous participants have said about the course:
This course offers you:
- Practical tools for designing and facilitating successful events.
- Guidance on how to involve a wide range of voices and ensure everyone feels heard.
- Ideas for enabling people to work together and get the best out of groups.
- An opportunity to explore issues commonly faced by facilitators.

Who is the course for?
It’s for anyone who wants to run engaging events – people who want to collaborate effectively with patients, families, and service users, and those working in all kinds of roles in healthcare or healthcare research who aim to facilitate brilliant involvement or co-design events, meetings, and workshops.
Bespoke courses
In-person courses take place over a one-day workshop. We also run bespoke courses, which are tailored to meet the needs of the group, team or organisation. Please contact learninganddevelopment@pickereurope.ac.uk for more information.
