Picker welcomes Angela Coulter as Chair of its Board of Trustees

Leading international health and social care charity Picker has appointed Angela Coulter as its new Chair of the Board of Trustees.

Angela Coulter is a world-leading and acclaimed researcher on person centred care. She has published more than 350 academic papers, reports, books and journals focused on patients’ experiences of illness and care. Angela was the CEO of Picker between 2000 and 2008 and other roles held include Executive Director of Policy, the King’s Fund, Director, Health Services Research Unit, University of Oxford, Non-Executive Director of NICE and Trustee of National Voices.

Professor Aileen Clarke has stepped down as Chair to focus more on her retirement, following three years’ service. Aileen led Picker through the pandemic and helped the charity to ensure its sustainability and enhance its impact in improving person centred care.

Angela joins a strong Board of Trustees and will help steer the charity’s strategy and governance. Picker, part of the Picker Group, works across health and social care and believes in the highest quality person centred care for all, always.

It promotes this by measuring, understanding, and encouraging the the use of people’s experiences as staff, service users, and patient.
